What is the difference between HP papers Q1420A and Q1420B?

What is the difference between HP papers Q1426A and Q1426B?

 

My printer requires the A version, but everywhere I look to purchase they all have the B version.

It is a different finish, one is satin the other Semigloss. Can depend on what ink your printer used

Thank you repair trooper. Helpful reply. Now I know they are not interchangeable, which is frustrating, since I can find no HP Universal Gloss Photo Paper Q1426A or HP Universal Satin Photo Paper Q1420A in Europe. Everyone only carries the B versions. A shame that I just bought my printer 2 years ago and already there is no photo paper for it.

According to HP website - This product has been discontinued 

HP Premium Gloss Photo Paper - Discontinued - CZ984A

HP Premium Satin Photo Paper CZ987A

HP Universal Gloss Photo Paper Q1426A 

HP Universal Satin Photo Paper Q1420A

 

So there is no photo paper that can be used in my 2 year old printer!? This is INSANE. Is there a newer version of any of these papers that is properly calibrated to work on my printer?

HP has very good icc profiles for different hp  medias....

no matter what you can get & load onto your printer, first time make sure do a color calibration, then before you
print, make convert your image to that    hp icc profile ....also make sure use    same icc profile to print..

 

Even better, if your printer utility can create its own icc profile  & use it...
Myself use Z3200 44" printer with 12 colors , I never care or worry what medias I bought online,
because I create my own icc profiles... always perfect.

Rubensanchez01 - Yea, that's great if you are a large company with a decent spectrophotometer. I used to do this all the time when calibrating proofers to match specific press profiles. 10 years later I am a one man shop. I think asking for a proofer that has some built in paper profiles, with papers one can actually buy, is not such a huge thing to ask.
