i am looking to install a printer profile for my Designjet T120 printer, so i can print transparencies.
Currently when i open print in Photoshop, in 'color management' there are a load of printer profiles, but nothing for transparency or even glossy paper...
i have googled ICC printer profiles, but can't find anything (aside from old websites that don't work anymore), and nothing pops up for HP support either...
Can anyone help?
i'm using Mac OS Ventura 13.1.2 on a Mac Mini..
Cheers
James

The color management is in the print driver, and the printer by specifications doesn't support printing on transparencies and that is why you don't have them as an option. You might get good printing results if you select available media like film or tracing paper.

i don't quite understand. why wouldn't the printer support printing on transparency?
i'm printing on an HP transparency roll made for the printer (C3876A). you'd think there would be a printer profile to go with this, no?
there are sixty or so other profile options available, but none have any relevance to printing on transparency or even glossy paper.. do i really need to test every single one to see if they improve the situation?

It's the printer driver, not the printer itself. There are no ICC profiles for low-end printers.
The printer as a machine will print but the driver controls and manages the print output.

ok, right...
it just seems odd that HP make a printer and sells transparency rolls for it, but has no printer driver to support this. no?
do you have any advice other than try all the existing printer profiles?
cheers
