HP DesignJet Z2600 24-in PostScript Printer

hello all, maybe you can help me with a firmware issue i have on my z2600.

I got it second hand, it has a password lock to change any of the network settings. id like to get a new hdd and install firmware is that a option? or do i need to buy a virgin hdd to then install into the printer on the formatter board. 

maybe there is a cold reset option? somehow to reset all of the passwords settings

there is a website selling a virgin hdd for 200 and i will get it in the case of i can not reset the printer

There are a few ways.

1)set your laptop to the ip range of the printer.

 

Log jnto the Web interface by typing ip address into your browser.

You might be able to change ip address from there.

2) if that does not work get into  engineering mode and reset eeprom.

This is done by during start up.

when the home icon appears press it.

The icons all then appear at side of screen

Press cancel

Press home

Press help.

The icons will all flash if you did it right

The machine  will boot and give you options.

One will be default eprom password.

Good luck
