VVX 250

How do I reset the admin password on this phone?
There is no "Cancel" option during the boot process.
Holding the 1, 3; 5 buttons during the boot process also does not allow for resetting the admin password.
I cannot factory reset the device.

Hello @PolycomVictim ,

Welcome to the HP community.

Unfortunately, Your post does not contain the currently used Software version for the HP Poly product or the Partner application you are using.

This is important especially in the future when someone finds this post in days, months, or years to come.

For Poly IP phones please provide if this is PVOS, UC Software, or ObiEdition. For current Video products please include the Provider used.

Assuming this is a newer VVX X50 please check the note here:

This is a brand new Obi edition VVX 250.

Revision: ZZD

PartNumber: 3111-48820-021
HardwareVersion 1.0
SoftwareVersion 6.4.5.10011

I am trying to provision it for Dialpad.

I have looked up the methods for factory resetting this phone, but neither one works. There is no "Cancel" option during bootup, nor does holding down 1,3 and 5 work.

How do I reset the admin password for this brand new VVX 250?

I have watched the video and pressing 1, 3; 5 during the boot process does not have any affect on the VVX 205 Obi phone. I have tried it repeatedly. There is no menu that comes up that displays the option to reset the admin password.

I have tried to find a support organization by clicking on the link in your signature, but have not had any success in locating any. I'm in Texas. All I want to do is reset the admin password.

Please let me know how I can get support for this phone.

yeah I followed that link a few times. That's how I originally got the the "Community Support" site.

When I clicked that link again and followed a link to support for my phone,

https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact/poly-serial-number

The page errored out:

Sorry…

We're having trouble loading your information. Try refreshing the page or come back later.

"Go somewhere else" is exactly the level of support I would expect from HP. Had I known HP owns Polycom, I would have chosen a different model for our business. I guess I can still return all of them since they're unsupported.
