Soundpoint IP 450
UCS 3.3.3.0094
Asterisk 1.8.32.1
I'm trying to move my SIP auth passwords from reg.cfg to the phone (for better security).
I keep getting password errors from Asterisk.
When I also try to move the auth username to the phone, I get an error from Asterisk telling me that the username is <XXXX> and the auth digest username is < XXXX>, i.e., same thing but with a leading space.
I wonder if the same thing is happening to the password on the phone: a leading space is being inserted?
I have no trouble moving auth passwords to web config, but that doesn't help with security: the passwords are just in a different file on the boot server. I don't want passwords stored on the boot server.
I have reentered the password on the phone several times, very carefully. I'm sure I'm not typing it in incorrectly.
The password is 11 characters long, alphanumeric only.

Hello bitbanger,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Firstly I would suggest to install a currently supported software on this unit. UCS 4.0.8 for example.
In addition I would factory default the unit with everything apart from the password and then add this manually.

Thanks for the reply.
Before I update the firmware I would like to be able to return to 3.3.3.0094 if necessary, which doesn't seem to be available for download. In September, when I downloaded 3.3.3 from the UC Software Matrix I got 3.3.3.0069, an older build.
Can I get 3.3.3.0094 Split?
Also, is there some reason you recommend 4.0.8 rather than 4.0.9? Just curious.

Hello ,
I believe we have a DTMF issue on 4.0.9
Old software is => here <=

Thanks for the explanation on 4.0.8 vs. 4.0.9.
I downloaded 3.3.3 Split from the link you gave; it's identical to the 3.3.3.0069 .zip I already had and the sip.ver file inside identifies it as 3.3.3.0069. The phone has 3.3.3.0094 on it. If I need to revert, I'd hate to revert to an older build.

I'd like to try again on this.
I still need 3.3.3.0094 Split, not the 3.3.3.0069 that is available for download.
Reason: If I need to revert to 3.3.3 I don't want to revert to something older than I have now, and introduce bugs that I don't have now.
How can I download this?
Thanks!

I bought the phone secondhand in 09/2015 from a private party through Amazon Marketplace.
UCS 3.3.3.0094 is what was on the phone when I got it.
I have no idea from whom the phone was purchased when new.

Hello Bitbanger,
The phone was sold back in September 2012 to the Government of St. Kitts & Nevis and I am unable to provide you further details on this.
You have the official option to upgrade to a currently supported version 4.0.10 or use any prior version.
