I am using a CCX 600 Teams phone.  When I upgrade it to 8.1.3 and switch it from Teams to Generic the phone works on my Ring Central system no problem.  However, it is constantly downloading a "downgrade" to 6.2.3.0442.  Once this installs I can no longer set the applicaiton to Generic.

 

Is there a workaround for this?

Resolution: Most likely the variant purchased was not an official Skype for Business SKU. A phone can switch profiles to support this but please ensure the relevant License is purchased. More details and instructions can be found => here <=

 

the above should explain the limitations certain software versions have with hardware used.

i would try and set a manual upgrade server but RingCentral may overwrite this. You will need to work with their support team.

Hi, Thank you for the quick response.  It is actually the inverse of your article.  I only see teams and Skype, but I only want to use the generic profile.  

 

It is a teams phone that I am now trying to use with ring central. The generic profile is all I need. Is there anyway to reflash the phone so it removes the teams or Skype profiles? Or at least default to generic ?

I had hoped that the 1st FAQ article would explain this with no follow-up questions. I have just added a hopefully clearer comment to this that this cannot be changed on software 6.x.x or older.

 

Please work with Ring Central support on provisioning a later software.
