Dear sir/madam,

I've tried to re-update the firmware to the latest available according to your support website (http://support.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/us/support/voice/soundstation_ip_series/soundstati... and by following your guide for How to Provision (http://support.polycom.com/global/documents/support/setup_maintenance/products/voice/How_to_Provisio...

However, my phone says that the firmware is not compatible with the phone. When I look in the config file that initially is named 000000000000.cfg (master config file) there's application paths for a few soundstation IP types but not the SoundStation IP 5000. I've tried 3 different versions checked in the UC Software Release Matrix (http://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/sip_sw_releases_matrix.html) but they all won't work.

Is it possible that the UC Software upgrade is not compatible with the SoundStation IP 5000? Can anyone provide me a link to the right UC Software version that is compatible with my SoundStation IP 5000?

Best regards,

Peter Kok

Hello ,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

and

Jan 04, 2013 Question: What does the message "Image is not compatible" mean?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

If you follow the phone will upgrade.

I suggest you use UCS 4.0.6

Above explains that both the Updater and the UCS software must be in the same the directory in an unzipped / extracted form.

The Phone would expect to download 3111-30900-001.bootrom.ld first and then after this 3111-30900-001.sip.ld

All this should show in the logs of your provisioning server.

The only other reason the phone would fail to do so is that the Phone is actually a Polycom development unit.

You could see this on the countdown as it starts from 99 instead of 10.
