It may be desirable to power a Poly daisy chained RealPresence Visual+ via the RealPresence Trio utilizing a UPoE powered switch.

 

This type of power is not supported on a Visual+ as the IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standard only supports 30W power over two pairs out of the four twisted pairs.

 

This non-standard PoE implementation was created by Cisco as another Universal Power over Ethernet (UPOE). UPOE can use all 4 pairs, after negotiation, to supply up to 60 W
