[FAQ] Upgrading a CX5500 or CX5100 via a Server

The CX5500 or CX5100 runs a similar software to the Polycom phones and utilizes a similar method to the => Provisioning Server <=

Downloading the Software from => here <= and simply unzipping the .tar file it whilst keeping the Direcotry Structure and placing this on the Server.

In my Example I am using a FTP Server (Filezilla):

My Root Directory is called CX5500 and within the unzipped millennium Folder is placed.

Inside this folder the structure should look like this:

A newly created user called 1 has the CX5500 Folder assigned

Adding the above Server and user to the CX5500 Web Interface

The CX5x00 also does not “upgrade” on a reboot like the VVX so you either need to manually set Update via the above and click on "Update Now" or set a time,

Example:

The above example would update the Unit every Thursday at 5:00 PM

You can manually change these values or look them up in the attached Millennium_time_interval_chart.xlsx
