VVX 410

Hi all,

What's the proper way to specify a server that contains VVX firmware files in the configuration files that's different than the configuration provisioning server?

As of UC 6.3.1, we no longer have a combined sip.ld file, yet the sample master configuration file, 000000000000.cfg, still has the following:

  APP_FILE_PATH="sip.ld"

Is the sip.ld in this case simply a place-holder, and the phone will automatically download the file based on its model (i.e. 3111-48450-001.sip.ld for the VVX 411)? That was the behavior with older UC versions.

The master configuration file also contains these new entries, which I'm not able to find in the Administration or Provisioning guides:

  <APPLICATION_VVX400 APP_FILE_PATH_VVX400="sip_590.ld" CONFIG_FILES_VVX400="" />
  <APPLICATION_VVX410 APP_FILE_PATH_VVX410="sip_590.ld" CONFIG_FILES_VVX410="" />

Am I correct in assuming that the VVX410 tags and properties will apply to the VVX411? Or do I need separate tags for the other model?

Also, the APP_FILE_PATH_VVX410 value, "sip_590.ld", is not in the 6.4.5 download. Is it just a placeholder filename that could be replaced with "3111-48450-001.sip.ld" from the UC Software zip?

Lastly, but on a related note, a VVX 410 on 5.9.0 (9373?), wouldn't update its configuration when a provisioning server was specified through the web interface. However, after the firmware was manually updated to 5.9.8.5760, it downloaded the config without any other adjustments.

Is there a way to force an update to a newer firmware without logging into the web interface? Would a config URL specified by the DHCP Option 160 behave any differently than a manually entered URL?

Thanks!

@SteffenBaierUK Any advice?

I *have* read the docs, but I'm still coming up short.
