Hi,
I am able to configure hot desking on my Polycom phone but I would like to know if this is possible if the user has 2 lines. If the user logs in using his account is there a way that the phone can register to both lines?
I am thinking that this could be a product limitation but I am just taking my shot here. I appreciate any input that you can provide.
Thanks!

Hello @TQ ,
Welcome to the Poly Community. Usually, we need at least some of the below information in order to be able to answer.
Both the communities Must Read First and the FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.
This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.
As a reminder the basic information asked for:
- Provide the exact Software Version of your Phone
- Provide the Phone Model
- Provide the Call Platform (aka openSIP, Teams, Skype for Business Online, Skype for Business on Premise, Lync, Zoom , BlueJeans and/or Hybrid Registration)
- Provide details if UC / SIP or ObiEdition
- Additional Poly Infrastructure (RPRM,PDMS or BToE)
- If applicable provide a backup of the phone in question
UC Software 4.0.0 or later via the Web Interface Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Phone Backup > Phone Backup. Please rename into .TXT or Zip the file to attach.
Since UC Software 5.9.0 simply provide this via the Web Interface Diagnostics > Download Support Information Package
- If possible provide a Log and either attach them or use the Code Tag.Consult the Troubleshooting Section found within the FAQ if applicable
- If possible provide the MAC Address or Serial of the device
- Provide details for example if the issue is a day 1 issue or only happened after an upgrade or any other relevant details
- For questions around Support please check here
Whilst providing some of these details may not directly impact any possible answer the community can provide, it does enable Poly to have an overview of the current software used. In addition, providing all details at the same time allow us to check logs or look up potential support partners if an issue needs to come into support. It also enables us to verify the entitlement for using features.
Please ensure you always check the FAQ's and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up posts.
Not knowing what type of server or phone type this is about a general answer would be the below:
Oct 20, 2011 Question: How can I use the User Login Feature introduced in UC Software 4.0.0?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
Simply add another server into the sample configuration aka:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<!-- Application SIP Mink 4.0.0.26884 -->
<User_CONFIG>
<OVERRIDES
prov.login.localPassword="123"
reg.1.address="3100"
reg.1.auth.password="3100"
reg.1.auth.userId="3100"
reg.1.displayName="3100"
reg.1.label="3100"
reg.1.server.1.address="10.252.149.122"
reg.2.address="3033"
reg.2.auth.password="3033"
reg.2.auth.userId="3033"

Hi Steffen,
Thanks for responding. Apologies if I haven't provided the whole info:
Phone Model VVX 400
UC Software Version 5.9.2.3446
I am using the polycom as a hosted SIP phone via Broadsoft.
When we login using hotdesking how can we get 2 or more lines registered after logging in? Thanks!

Hello @TQ ,
you would need to work with our partner BroadSoft on this as we are unable to confirm how they would add a 2nd or more lines to our phones.
If this is not a 2nd BroadSoft line simply follow this:
Oct 7, 2011 Question: Can I register or is my Polycom Phone compatible with a “XYZ” SIP Server?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
Please be aware that Broadsoft may overwrite this with their CFG.
