Hello,
I have a cutomer using VVX 410 in release 5.3.
The customer wants to change the softkey label from "Contacts" to "Customer Contacts" (a total of 18 characters including space) but when I change it from the provisionning file, is shows a blank label.
When I change to "Cust Contacts" (13 digits) it's correctly displayed.
I don't find any information in the documentation concerning the maximum number of characters on a softkey label.
Can you help ?
Thanks!

Hello soosha,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
There is no rule of thumb as this all depends on the letters aka a w would use more space than a u for example. They just need to experiment.

Thanks Steffen for your reply.
Just to be sure to fully understand : Sometimes I have "..." at the end of the label when there is not enough space.
For example "DoNotDistu..." is displayed instead of "DoNotDisturb".
Why do I have a blank label instead of "Customer Cont..." ? Is it because of the space between the 2 words ?
Is there a way to force the label on 2 lines : "Customer" on the first line and "Contacts" on the second line ?
Thanks

Hello soosha,
The issue is not the space but the length of the label. Simply experiment with shortening the Label. A quick test on a VVX600 managed to get it into 2 lines if not using all letters.
Once to many letters are used a blank key is shown instead.

Hello soosha,
looking at the polycomConfig.xsd in the \Config subdirectory I can see that the softkey.x.label Parameter has a maximum of 16 characters. Your customer is using 17
