E-Series Polycom Phone E220/E450

Hi in our environment users have the ability to login/assign a phone to themselves if a phone is in an unassigned state. The user enters their extension number and pin using the login softkey or dialing *90.

Is there a way to restrict users from dialing *90 to put a phone back into an unassigned state? We don't mind them having the ability to log into an unassigned phone but we don't want them to be able to remove themselves or others from a phone without contacting IT.

Thanks!

Hello @Smiles2u ,

Welcome to the HP community.

Unfortunately, your post does not contain the software version you currently use for your HP Poly product.

This is important especially in the future when someone finds this post in days, months, or years to come. Please do not simply edit the original post but reply with the versions.

We do remind users in the FAQ or the Read 1st section, explaining why this is important.

For your actual issue, I would suggest you work with who set up the VoIP System you use as the same code is being used to sign in and out. The Phone would not really "know" the state it is in.

The other suggestion is to check the VoIP FAQ:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: Phone unable to Dial a number when Off Hook or on 2nd Call in a Conference or Digitmap issues

Resolution: Please check => here <=

If an issue like this cannot be resolved via a public community post, and no other volunteers reply, please work with our support organization in your region. Details on how to contact us are in my signature

Best regards

Thank you for your reply. Sorry for leaving out that crucial info. Our Poly Edge Series phones have PVOS 8.2.1.0820.

Thanks again for the reply 🙂
