Hi all. I have a need to obtain a hook switch relay closure from in this case, Poly Edge 450 series desk phones. The relay closure would be used to interface the desk set to a Motorola radio dispatch console. The closure, and audio from the coil cord get wired to an aux port in the console, and the closure causes the console to route the phone audio present at the aux port, to it's headset. There are various devices in the old analog phone world that can provide this closure, but nothing I've been able to find for IP desk sets. "Electronic Hook Switch" sounds like it would be the same thing, but seems to be digital signaling based, rather than a relay closure.

Thanks for the reply Meghana_10. I've tried that route, but the HP website keeps auto-detecting my HP laptop, or my monitor, and bringing me to the PC support page, even if I navigate to the Poly page. It also detects me as being in a different country each and every time. Very frustrating, that's why I tried the forum.

Hello @toddinhali ,

Welcome to the HP Poly community.

Are you looking for an external relay to switch on and off a feature, or am I misunderstanding this request?

Most Poly Phones support an EHS / Electronic Hook Switch, which works in conjunction with the headset port, but I am not aware that we make the pin out available to the public. The EHS port on the bottom of the phone uses a 5 pin/prong-type connector.

Best Regards
