01/08/2024 voipt2.polycom.com has been decommissioned. Please use Poly Lens to download firmware and set up a local provisioning server
Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I set up my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <= and you need Poly Lens now to get access to Poly Software.
I was getting error 0x44020, Config Decryption Error, so I tried setting the <removed> server on my ip4000, and now I'm on Rev 3.1.7.0123, and I get 0x120 Config File Error. nothing I do seems to work, and it's stuck and just wants to reboot if I don't go back into setup.
Added: Also after I boot, and am editing, if I choose About it says 4.1.4.0122, not sure why i have 2 different versions.

Hello Neal,
many people misunderstand the reset as this just sets the network settings back to factory default.
Follow the Provisioning FAQ and setup an FTP Server and allow files to be written to the server.
This will then allow the phone to upload its logs so you can check for errors.
If all fails give Polycom support a call and pay the PPI and my colleagues will help you.
Best Regards

Thanks for the link, and I tried the http://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP/FAQ-How-can-I-setup-my-Phone-Provisioning-Download-Software/td-... article, but it didn't work.
I'm not sure what my settings should be, I tried Static, Option 66, custom, and 150,160, String IP address and put the server as: voipt2.polycom.com and nothing works, I just get Config File error 0x120. Do you know specifically what I should put in each field? If I need to point to a specific file or directory, I don't see where to do that.

Hi,
the directory is decided by the Username. I can only suggest to check the logs to follow up.
A very simple issue, very easy to rectify.
Regards
Steffen

Sorry, but maybe it's easy for you, but I'm just a user trying to get the phone to work. i have no clue where any logs are, and I've spent hours reading FAQ's and documentation. I'm a little technical, but what you said doesn't really make sense to me.
My unit should be crystal clean right now, since I did the reset, and It will eventually be in a very small asterisk environment if that helps.
Can you please be a bit more specific, and help me with what to type where on the unit.
Thanks
Neal.

okay, it worked. I had to download the files from:
for it, and put that at my own ftp location.
Thanks
