Trio C60
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just recently bought Poly Trio C60 and trying to use it with my PBX NEC SV9500. I set it on DHCP and got an IP address. I have my PBX set up on VLAN 22. All my phone stations are set up on VLAN 20 so is Poly Trio C60.  I can ping all the stations on VLAN 20 but I can't reach VLAN 22 from the Poly C60. Even though any other device on VLAN 20 can reach VLAN 22. I tried set it on static IP address and still can't reach it. Is there some other settings that are blocking from talking to other VLANs?

The software version is 8.1.6.1005.

Hello @Vitaliy777, Welcome to the HP Poly Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the Poly device.

Thank you for reaching out and for providing the details of your setup. We understand how important reliable connectivity is, especially in a VLAN-segmented environment. Based on what you’ve described with your Poly Trio C60, it appears there may be a configuration or routing issue affecting communication between VLAN 20 and VLAN 22.

To help you move forward, please consider the following checks:

  • VLAN Configuration:
Verify that the VLAN settings on the Poly Trio C60 are correctly configured and match your network's VLAN configuration. You can configure the VLAN ID manually through the phone’s menu or via the provisioning server.
  • DHCP and VLAN Tagging:
Ensure that the DHCP server supports VLAN tagging and that there are no discrepancies in how VLAN IDs are being assigned. The VLAN ID can be set to a fixed value or obtained via DHCP if configured properly. In the Poly Trio, you can set VLAN configurations to be either static, fixed, or custom.
  • VLAN Discovery Settings:
Make sure the VLAN discovery settings on the Poly Trio C60 are not set to Disable. It should be set to either Custom if you're specifying the VLAN IDs yourself or Fixed if you're using standard DHCP options for VLAN discovery.
  • Network Switch Configuration:
Check that the network switches are correctly configured to support inter-VLAN routing and that they allow traffic between VLAN 20 and VLAN 22. Ensure that the switch ports connected to the Poly Trio C60 are configured to the correct VLAN 20 settings and tagged appropriately if needed.
  • Gateway and Routing Configuration:
Verify that the gateway configuration for VLAN 20 allows routing between VLAN 20 and VLAN 22 and that no network policies or firewall rules are blocking communication between these VLANs.
  • Device Firmware and Settings:
Ensure that your Poly Trio C60 is running the latest firmware. Review and adjust any device-specific settings, such as A/V filtering and LLDP/CDP configuration, that might impact its network connectivity.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hello ,

Welcome to the HP community.

A Poly C60 running 8.1.6. is not a supported configuration or software.

At present PVOS 9.3.1 or PVOS 9.3.0 would be a supported Firmware.

Our VoIP Section has this:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I set up my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <= and you need Poly Lens now to get access to Poly Software.

or

Jul 10, 2013 Question: How can I use VLANs with Poly phones?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

or

May 03, 2017 Question: Can I disable CDP or LLDP on the phone?

Resolution:See Option 2 for example screenshots => here <= for the VLAN menu.

Dear Salman,

Thank you for your reply. Vlan 20 and Vlan 22 on my network are configured to talk to each other. That's how all my phones are connected to the PBX.

The current setting in C60 on the VLAN tag in VLAN setting are set to Fixed. I just changed it to custom and set my VLAD ID that I have. Rebooted and still the same problem. It won't reach VLAN 22. Does LLDP and CDP should be set to enable both at the same time? Is there any other setting I should check that block that?

You said to update the firmware to the latest one, in this case does it mean the software? When I go to Poly website the only thing I can find is software version 9.3.... is this what is refer to? I tried doing it from the internet and poly says upgrade completed but the version stays the same.

Dear Steffen,

Thank you. I have updated the Trio C60 to the latest software version and it is no running 9.3.1.0062. I tried different options with VLAN settings and stills can get it to talk to the different VLAN in my case to VLAN 22. Trace route shows it stops with the Trio C60, i.e. nothing else blocks it on my network settings.

Is there is any other suggestions or settings I can try?

Thank you for help.
