We need help securing the https traffic to the web administration page of the Poly VVX 250 phones. In the phone's documentation (https://docs.poly.com/bundle/ccx-opensip-ag-8-1-0/page/create-a-csr-on-the-local-interface.html), I found these steps:
'Go to Settings > Advanced > Admin Settings > Generate CSR.
Enter the following information: Common Name Organization (optional) Email Address (optional) Country (optional) State (optional) Select Generate. A CSR generation completed message displays. If sec.uploadDevice.privateKey="1", MAC.csr (certificate request) and MAC-private.pem (private key) files upload to the phone’s provisioning server. Forward the CSR to a CA to create a certificate. If your organization doesn’t have its own CA, you must forward the CSR to the third-party security company that hosts your CA. '.
Unfortunately, even though we upgraded the OS to the latest version (6.4.7.4513), the 'Advanced' option does not appear for us to download the CSR. The https communication is encrypted using a self-signed certificate, and our desire is to download a CSR and create a certificate signed by our internal CA. We have added our trust chain, but we are stuck at this step.

Hello @MihaiNN ,
Welcome to the HP Poly community.
Most likely you are either using the User Password for the Advanced menu or the Admin Password is unknown.
From our FAQ:
Oct 7, 2011 Question: What is the default standard Username and Password for a Poly Phone?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
Sep 19, 2022 Question: Why does a Phone return/revert to a previous unknown password even after a factory reset?
Resolution: If a phone is provisioned either by a local server/ZTP/LENS and/or a DHCP option the phone will simply load the old configuration.
On phones with access to the low-level GUI (option 4 >here<) once the password is reset either ZTP can be disabled or the Boot Server can be set to static. For phones that do not have such an option (CCX, Trio, D230, Rove or Edge E) please check with your IT team or whoever set up the phone.

Hello SteffenBaierUK,
Thank you for your response.
The first thing which we've Done was to change the admin password.
After that we:
- opened the administration web interface using the Admin user and password set by us
- updated the firmware but we still can't see the "advanced" option in the settings tab
Do you have any other recommendation ?
Regards,
Mihai.

Hello @MihaiNN ,
with no knowledge of the history of the device I would suggest you format the phone and ensure it is not connecting to any provisioning server where it could download a configuration.
Does the Menu simply not appear? Have you tried downgrading the phone?
If no other volunteers reply, I suggest you contact our Support organization in your region. Details are in my Signature.
Best Regards
