Hi,
Is it possible for a Poly phone to land to a Username & Password screen after boot up? I'm thinking of provisioning Poly phones where the SIP server address is provided using the DHCP option, and for users to provide the username and password for the registration.
Phone Basic Information
Phone Model: VVX 410
Part Number: 3111-46162-001 Rev:A
MAC Address: 00:04:F2:55:F6:E4
IP Mode: IPv4
UC Software Version: 5.9.5.0614 (SIP/UC using PDMS)
Updater Version: 5.9.7.32930
Call Platform: Cisco BroadWorks
Thanks.

Hello @jamimo
yes simply just get the phone to use:
prov.login.enabled="1"
That way it will simply prompt you to log in.

Hi Steffen,
Thank you for your prompt response. However, the link you provided talks about a scenario where the phone (UAC) is already registered and already has a config file from a server.
What I'm trying to know here is a scenario before the phone is registered to the server. So, when the phone boots up, it will acquire its IP parameters, including the provisioning server address, through DHCP. Now, the user should have a prompt on the phone screen to be able to enter the authentication credentials (username/password) for the registration to the server, without using any of the MKC shortcuts and navigating through the Settings options.
Is that possible?

Hi Steffen,
I almost have this setup working. So, I have to maintain a generic user profile for the phone to be able to register automatically to the server, but not login. Then, I have to have user profiles that will be used to login. Below is my sample generic profile config.
<polycomConfig> <OVERRIDES prov.login.enabled="1" prov.login.automaticLogout="0" prov.login.useProvAuth="1" prov.login.required="1" prov.login.persistent="1" reg.1.address="%" reg.1.auth.userId="%" reg.1.auth.password="%" reg.1.displayName="%" reg.1.server.1.address="%" /> </polycomConfig>
However, using the above generic profile calling Emergency 911 is still possible. Is there a way to remove that?

Hello @jamimo ,
this now comes into support territory which I am unable to provide via the Poly community.
In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.
End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support.
Our records show this phone was sold by SCANSOURCE INC back in 10/12/2014
As the unit is no longer within the warranty please be prepared to Pay Per Incident / PPI. This is all outlined in detail here
