I am a New Single Phone User with a bot more than a basic understanding of VOIP services/devices and without a Systems Administrator or IT Department. I have a Polycom VVX 500 connected to a POE injector connected to the internet.
I recently restored the device to default settings so that I could start fresh. I logged into the device to setup the device as it is far easier to see and type. As far as I know the phone worked as it should. However, a few days later I made another change and was either prompted to reboot the phone or I did so for an unknown reason. The phone still works, but the ring tones I uploaded do not.
1 - This may not seem like a big deal, but it is very annoying & I need to know why and how to fix it.
2 - Also, how do I (or can I) do a back-up so that should I need to restore the phone in the future I can just load the back?
Any comments, instructions or assistance would be appreciated.

How did you add these files?

Hello @poly500
Please be aware of the following when utilizing UCS 4.1.0 or later:
The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a LYNC / Skype for Business environment. You may not install, access, or use the Software in a LYNC / Skype for Business environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a LYNC / Skype for Business server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.
Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.
Information in regards to License Part Numbers can be found here
The phone you are using is a VVX500 purchased 29/08/2014 so it does not have the above-mentioned license.
Prior to any other things we would need you to purchase the relevant license.
Best Regards
