The cable between the side car and the VVX 311 got damaged and I want to replace it with a custom, longer cable to reach around the monitor so that the phone is on one side and the expansion module is on the other side.
What kind of cable is needed ( Cat3, Cat5e ) and what is the pinout? If there is a tech sheet, I could use that as well.
Thanks,

Hello @Voiceipn,
I believe you are replying to yourself.
I am a Polycom employee and no I have not tried to build or use a longer cable.
As already replied I believe this is not supported.

Hello @Voiceipn,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
I am checking if we sell these individually but normally it is a straight cable using the same pins on both ends.
I am unsure if you can source the plugs as they are not RJ11 or RJ12 plugs but look like RJ45 plugs. Also I do not believe we support making these longer as require to be placed next to the phone.
Best Regards

Were you successful in custom making a longer cable?
We are utilizing the contact directory BLF feature and we tried to maker a custom cable and it resulted in the lights locking up on the expansion module.
You could press the buttons and the corresponding extension would ring however, the lights wouldnt change after 5+ minutes.
I am not sure if it is the ferrite components of the cable, the length, or the type of cabling that's causing it but whenever we go back to the 6 inch, ferrite, out of the box cable, it works.
