Hello,
I've tried to find a solution to update the contacts dir on the phone without reboot ( <mac-address>-directory.xml ).
I have a polycom IP321 witch is running 4.0.3 Firmware version and I've tried with "sip notify polycom-check-cfg extension", without success to update without reboot.
I want to know if there is o option to update the contacts without reboot for this model or Polycom VVX 500.
Best Regards,
Constantin

Hello Constantin,
The directory file is only read when the phone boots so the local directory is only updated on a reboot.
This has been working as designed since day one.
I suggest to simply utilize something like active directory or similar if you always want an updated directory.

Hello,
I've tryed to set up a LDAP contacts directory using this tutorial ...
http://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP/FAQ-Setup-an-openLDAP-server/td-p/75035
When I check the phones logs is say LDAP is not enabled.
I enabled in the sip.cfg and features.cfg but I don't know why I still get that message from my phone.
The phone model that I use is Polycom 320 and firmware 3.3.5 ...
Thanks

Hello Constantin,
From UC Software onwards we no longer use a SIP.cfg or Phone.cfg as explained => here <=
You can call your configuration files what you want but you must not use pre-UC Software 3.3.0 sip,cfg / phone1.cfg files.
You mention a features.cfg file which is most likely in the \config sub folder but these files are example templates as explained => here <= and are not automatically loaded.
I would suggest you check your logs for errors.
