Regarding "Option 2" in the Time and Date FAQ, the solution is presented as "the following can be used", along with an image (attached). Can someone please provide a brief explanation of what the image means?
Optional Info
Phone Model SoundPoint IP 550
Part Number 2345-12500-001 Rev:A
UC Software Version 4.1.1.0731
BootROM Software Version 5.1.1.0132
Context
- I'm a home office user with one Polycom 550, using voip.ms
- I use my office PC (Win7) as a one-time provisioning server (via TFTP).
- Router: Actiontec MI424WR, provided by ISP Verizon
- Yes, I have read the FAQs, I've searched the forum and read posts with related keywords, such as this one:

- Steffen suggested, "I would suggest you look into Provisioning of the Phones and use the tcpIpApp.sntp.address.overrideDHCP Parameter to override the DHCP SNTP Value and use a free NTP server like pool.ntp.org".
- I've atempted to modify the parameters in the polycomConfig.xsd file, but without success. The polycomConfig.xsd does not appear similar to the FAQ image. It looks more like this:
xsd:attribute name="tcpIpApp.sntp.gmtOffset" type="SInt_neg_43200_46800"
xsd:annotation> <xsd:documentation>number min -43200 max 46800 default 0.</xsd:documentation> /xsd:annotation
/xsd:attribute
(The forum app won't permit the code above with brackets, so I removed them.)

Hello SoCalSienna,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Firstly the software you are using on the phone is for LYNC only.
The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Resolution: Please always check the release Notes or

Oct 7, 2011 Question: What SIP or UC Software Version or BootROM Version is supported by my Phone?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
The polycomConfig.xsd is NOT a configuration file. The XSD file is a XML Schema Document as described => here <=
It basically contains all the parameters the phone is compatible with and shows their factory default settings and also the variables that can be set.
If you would like to utilize different parameters via a provisioning server please read:
Oct 7, 2011 Question: What is the relevance of the 000000000000.cfg or <mac>.cfg?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
The above files are used to load any configuration. You can use to load for example templates in the \config sub directory or simply create your own XML compatible configuration files. This is explained here:
