Hi there
I have a VVX 300 version 5.2.0.8330
The phone keeps getting random calls from these numbers
Sip:6207@232.252.***.***
Sip:5500@232.252.***.***
Sip:4400@232.252.***.***
Sip:550@232.252.***.***
Sip:660@232.252.***.***
I obscured the last 6 digits because it is out own external ip address
When i try to pick up the call nothing happens and hanging up doesnt do anything either, have to wait it out for the call to dissappear
Anything i can do to prevent or fix this?
Any help is appreciated

Hi Steffen
Thanks for the answer
I did however search the forum and the faq for an answer, however i didn't find anything as i didn't know what exactly i was looking for.
All i knew is i was getting calls from those numbers, i do not know what Sipvicious is, so even if i see that question on the FAQ i don't know if that's my answer
And then on the answer there's not a simplified solution on how to fix it.
There is no option to on the web browser utility to change "Incoming Signaling Validation"
There's just a sample configuration file attached, which i downloaded, but then i didn't know if i should add that code into an existing configuration file or import it by itself which is what i did.
I'm not sure if it's going to fix the problem or even create new ones
I'm a small business end user, our Voip provider wasnt much help just told me to "change a setting to now allow IP dialing" with no clarification on how so i posted here after searching for an answer first.

Hello Simon24,
I have replied with the above FAQ post as this will address you issue and only allow INVITES on the phones to be processed if they come from the hostname or IP address that your phone is registered to.
This works for other users and you simply import the example .cfg file via your Web Browser. There is no option to activate this via the Web Browser or the FAQ would show this.

Hi Steffan:
I am another general user experiencing similar issues on multiple Polycom VVX model phones behind a DSL ISP. It seems that phones I have behind a cable modem/router are not affected, but phones put behind AT&T DSL/U-Verse are repeatedly scanned/attacked.
I understand there is no option in the web editor to change this setting. Are there plans to add in a future revision? This seems to be of gaining importance due to attacks.
Since I am not skilled in resolving this, can you tell me exactly what steps need to be followed? I see the config file, but is all I need to do import that portion? Or, do I need to export my existing config, add those lines, modify the server address, and re-import the newly compiled file? I do not want o adversely affect the phone, but these calls are getting out of control.
Thanks for your guidance!

Hello BroColby,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
All you need to do is import the attached configuration once you amended the details for your SIP provider.
To my knowledge there are no current plans to add this to the web interface.
Jan 03, 2013 Question: How can I request a change to the current Polycom SIP / UCS Software?
