Hello,
I am wondering if it is possible to configure the Poly Edge series desk phones to skip the setup wizard on first setup. We have both the e450 and e100. The phones are configured via a provisioning server and the phone grabs the config file and reboots properly to apply the settings but the phone still makes you go through the setup wizard. Once that is completed all the phone settings from the config it downloaded are there. So I know that it is talking to the provisioning server. I am just not seeing an option in the admin guide to skip the wizard. None of the the other Poly phones that we use VVX line or soundpoint ip phones have had this setup wizard. Not looking at deploying a bunch of phones and having to go through that wizard.
Thanks in advance.

Hello @gbuar ,
From our VoIP FAQ:
Jul 13, 2022 Question: Can I bypass the Out of Box / OOB wizard or set specific settings on a Poly Trio or CCX phone?
Resolution: Please check => here <= for details. For details on how to do this using our free Poly Lens service check this file
I suggest you check the suggested configuration. the Edge has a choice between WiFi or Ethernet so I assume you need to define this in the configuration you provide to the phone.
Not got an Edge E at hand so any follow up, if no other volunteer replies, contact our support team in your region.
Best Regards

Hey Steffen,
Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. I was able to get it to skip the OOBE. In case anyone comes across this the following settings is what got it working for me.
device.auth.localAdminPassword=“789” device.auth.localAdminPassword.set=“1” device.baseProfile.set=“1” device.eulaAccepted=“1” device.eulaAccepted.set=“1” device.set=“1” feature.webSignIn.enabled=“1” prov.eula.accepted=“1” tcpIpApp.sntp.olsonTimezoneID=“America/Denver” |
A couple of things to note from the article that was listed. Adding in the following settings caused weird issues with the phone freezing when booting.
lcl.ml.lang=“English_United_States” |
device.baseProfile=“Lync”(“MSTeams”/“Generic”) |
From my testing it takes about 2-5 minutes once the phone boots it will sit at the pick a language screen and then it will reboot 2 more times to the language screen and then be ready to go. This works for me on both my E100 and my E450.
Thank you again Steffen for your quick response and assistance!
