Hello,
we bought an Polycom Soundstation IP 7000 and I am trying to integrate it to out Cisco Callmanager 11.5. I used the documation from the FAQ page (see below)
The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Jul 17, 2014 Question:Can I deploy Polycom® SoundStation® IP Conference Phones with Cisco® Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
But the Soundstation keeps unregistered on the phone page of the CUCM system and it is not possible to call it or to do call with it. But on the Phone display, the line is registered and on the logging page of the webinterface I can't find any errors
Is there anything else I can try or do?
Thanks,
Soeren Walter

Hello Soeren Walter,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
It is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.
The above is also stated in the "Read First"
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here
In addition:
Jan 19, 2012 Question: How to troubleshoot Polycom VoIP related Issues?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

Hello Soeren Walter,
you should ensure the Updater is on 5.0.11 as shown in example => here <=
The next step is to get some logs. If this happens over time I suggest syslog as shown => here <=

Hello!
I found this post as I am currently running in the same Problem with new IP 6000 devices.
Our Company is running a Cisco UCM 10.5 environment and I also followed the setup steps from:
Please check => here <= for more details
The IP 6000 say all is OK and the line is shown as registered in the display, but in the CUCM web interface the IP of the Soundstation is shown but the Status is still unregistered.
I updated The devices and they are now running:
- UC Software Version 4.0.13.1445
- BootROM Software Version 5.0.13.0801
In the device Log can see what I assume is the success message:
005916.688|sip |1|03|MsgSipTcpPacket 005916.689|sip |1|03|SipOnCommand: response 100,REGISTER 005916.689|sip |1|03|SipOnCommand: response 100,REGISTER matches user 1 of 1 '123456' 005916.689|sip |3|03|UA Client Non-INVITE REGISTER trans state 'callingTrying'->'proceeding' by 100 resp 65 timeout(0x41438314) 005916.689|sip |3|03|CTrans::InitNonInviteRetransSchedule retryCount 0 005916.690|sip |1|03|MsgSipTcpPacket 005916.691|sip |1|03|SipOnCommand: response 200,REGISTER 005916.691|sip |1|03|SipOnCommand: response 200,REGISTER matches user 1 of 1 '123456' 005916.691|sip |3|03|UA Client Non-INVITE REGISTER trans state 'proceeding'->'completed' by 200 resp 10 timeout(0x41438314) 005916.691|sip |2|03|CTrans:: REGISTER NonInv reTrans ALREADY stopped in 'completed' state at retryCount 0 code 200, timeout=10 (0x41438314)
Is there some update to the newer versions of the CUCM and the Polycom software, as the referenced document for setting up an IP 6000 as a third party SIP device was relying on older software.
Best regards, Gerhard

Hello @H2-O,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
99.9999% of the time the people do not follow the guide 100%
Please ensure:
- You are using the right digest username from CUCM
- You are using the right digest password from CUCM
- You are using the IP from the Subscriber and not Publisher
- You are using the right "fields" on the Polycom end
The below is from a newer phone so simply replace the User ID on the Polycom end with the Authentication User ID and the Password with the Authentication Password.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello SteffenBaierUK,
Thank you for the swift reply.
I double checked the settings on the devices, they are looking fine.
The Cisco Admin which was looking on the Cisco side could see the Polycom registering the line and then two seconds later it unregistered and stayed there. He also checked the configurations I created for the End User, the Device Security Profile and the Phone device. We named the End User used for the devices identical to the Directory Numbers (Line Address) to minimize the possibility of errors.
The SIP log on the Polycom looked identical to the one in the tech document published by Polycom with first registration attempt without authentication resulting in a 401 reply, then with challenge received the second attempt resulting in a success code 200. We have a Cisco Cluster and for both servers I see the 200 message. I checked the addresses with the one our Cisco 8800 Series phone show as their registration servers and they are identical.
I am a bit puzzled from the different views of the situation. On the IP 6000 display the line state is shown as registered with both servers and you can see the refresh counter counting down for each server. And the Cisco Web GUI only shows Unregistered.

Hello @SteffenBaierUK
a short update to the situation.
I did some tests including looking at the protocol with Wireshark.
According to the SIP protocol, the registration of the lines are done okay, both CallManager servers report a success with a lease time for the line. So the IP 6000 shows the correct information on the display, based on the SIP protocol.
Why the Phone in the Cisco CallManager flips back to "Unregistered" is now going to be investigated with a Cisco technician.
Best regards, Gerhard

Hello @SteffenBaierUK,
I finally got them working.
There were some additional settings on the CUCM side and on the IP 6000 devices required.
On the Cisco side:
- The user local user object in the CUCM required also a Password (min 5 digits) and a PIN, which I configured identical to the initially set Digest Credentials
In the IP 6000 Config, the Line settings also required additional configuration:
- The manual configuration of the Third Party Name option as [extenstion]@[callmanager] was required, where I used the DNS name of the CUCM server configured as first server.
- The configuration of the Outbound Proxy with the values of the first CUCM server.
After applying these changes all is working as expected.
Best regards, Gerhard
