Poly VVX 250 OBI edition

Hello everyone,

So I got my phone all set up with google voice and my wifi extender. I am now trying to upload a background image from a flash drive.

I connect the drive, select the image and paste it into the internal storage background folder. I have read through the manual and everything worked fine until I had to go to preferences and select the background image. For some reason when I go to preferences I do not have any item or section for background photos. Under preferences there isn't one thing that mentions a background image.

I have no idea how to fix this or even figure out why this is happening. If anyone that is much smarter than me can help me solve this problem I would be willing to pay you $20. I have wasted so many hours trying to figure this out.

Thank you!

Hello @camvvx250 ,

Welcome to the HP community. It seems you originally posted this twice but with different information.

Unfortunately, your post(s) does not contain the software version you currently use for the HP Poly product version you use.

This is important especially in the future when someone finds this post in days, months, or years to come. Please do not simply edit the original post but reply with the versions.

This is stated in the FAQ or the Read 1st section, explaining why this is important.

From a quick community search >here< or an internet search >here

Not anywhere near an ObiPhone at present but the screensaver / Background "should" be available via Settings > User Preferences > BackgroundPicture

Please bear in mind that you are using our Partner Google, which may also depend on them allowing this feature.

Other volunteers can respond but if an issue like this cannot be resolved via a public community post, please work with our support organization in your region. Details on how to contact us are in my signature

Best regards

Hello @camvvx250 ,

Login to the Phone's Web Interface as an Admin (you may need to check with your SIP Provider what the password is) and navigate to User Settings > User Preferences > BackgroundPicture > Untick default > Place URL to the location of the Picture.

Example:

http://storage.googleapis.com/voice-deskphone/polycom/backgrounds/newlogo-320x240.jpg

The above is the default when Google is the Provider as set by our Partner Google. They need to answer if this can be changed as it is restored once the phone reboots.

Any other ISP would use the above-described method as already shared >here

I suggest you contact Google Support for any questions.

Best Regards
