Hi,
Can someone point me in the right direction. We have taken on a customer with existing Polycom VVX301 handsets which they wish to keep, However the firmware is quite old and cannot be updated via the GUI. I know the Poly server has been removed and we need to use Poly Lens. However at that point I am stuck as I do not understand how to configure a Local Provisioning server to update the phones manually. I have installed Solar Wins TFTP but thats all i can do. Our providers Provisoning server says the below,
As discussed, the minimum firmware version for Provisioning redirection for Polycom VVX 301 is 5.5.3, 5.6.0, and later, which would explain why the Polycom phone is unable to communicate with our provisioning server for its server URL and firmware to be updated.
Unfortunately, the only other way is by uploading the firmware manually via its Poly hosted server.

Hi, We have managed to sort it thanks, our provider was able to put an overide code into their platform. It forced the phone to upgrade they are now running 6.4.7.4477 Firmware.

Welcome to the HP community.
Unfortunately, your post does not contain the currently used Software version for the HP Poly product you use.
This is important, especially in the future, when someone finds this post in days, months, or years.

Hi Currently running PolycomVVX-VVX_301-UA/5.5.2.857
Have downloaded 5.9.8.5760 from Poly Lens to try and setup a provisioning server but currently struggling. I have enabled FTP on my Laptop but I can't find it through the phone. Again this may not be setup 100% correct.

Please follow the shared FAQ guides, this has specific FTP instructions in the 1st post.

Hi,
Apologies, I have tried to follow the FAQ's but i seem to be going round in circules and it's taking me back to the same posts saying. Use the Polys upgrader, which does not work. Getting very lost in the posts.
I have got various SIP.IDs downloaded to my PC but cannot work out how to get the phone to see them. when I put my IP address in the custom server on the gui it says unable to find server.

Hello @PremVoiceB ,
It could be as simple as the PC firewall blocking the FTP app or the network not able to reach between the phones IP and the PC's IP.
