Hello,

I have a VVX 410 + VVX Colored expansion module that I am trying to configure.

Before I activate the lineKey.reassignment.enabled option. I see the lines displayed on 12 keys, 3 BLFs on the phone and 3 on the expansion module ( this is what I programmed into the phone ).

However, I want to take advantage of the arbitrary placement of BLFs and Line keys so I activated the lineKey.reassignment.enabled option ( lineKey.reassignment.enabled=1 ).

The screen is blank, as shown here :

http://imgur.com/P5Lh75d

The documentation says that by default, when using the reassignment mode, all the keys are by default 'unassigned', so I assigned them accordingly :

  <lineKey lineKey.11.category="BLF" lineKey.8.category="BLF" lineKey.9.category="BLF" lineKey.30.category="BLF" lineKey.14.category="BLF" lineKey.20.category="BLF" lineKey.1.category="Line" lineKey.2.category="Line" lineKey.3.category="Line" lineKey.4.category="Line" lineKey.5.category="Line" lineKey.6.category="Line" lineKey.7.category="Line" lineKey.10.category="Line" lineKey.12.category="Line">
    <lineKey.reassignment lineKey.reassignment.enabled="1"/>
  </lineKey>

And I have the BLF ( attendant buttons ) programmed :

<attendant.resourceList attendant.resourceList.11.type="normal" attendant.resourceList.11.label="205 SPA509G C" attendant.resourceList.11.address="205" attendant.resourceList.8.type="normal" attendant.resourceList.8.label="201 SPA301 C" attendant.resourceList.8.address="201" attendant.resourceList.9.type="normal" attendant.resourceList.9.label="202 SPA303G1 C" attendant.resourceList.9.address="202" attendant.resourceList.30.type="normal" attendant.resourceList.30.label="214" attendant.resourceList.30.address="214" attendant.resourceList.14.type="normal" attendant.resourceList.14.label="215 T21P Y" attendant.resourceList.14.address="215" attendant.resourceList.20.type="normal" attendant.resourceList.20.label="207 SPA525G2 C" attendant.resourceList.20.address="207"/>

The phone is running firmware 4.1.8, as seen from apache server :

"FileTransport PolycomVVX-VVX_410-UA/4.1.8.1146 (SN:**************) Type/Application"

here is the exported config from the device :

As far as I can tell, I followed everything in the documentation ( using 4.1.8 to have the expansion module , assigning "line keys" in reassignment mode, etc... ), but it's still not working.

Any suggestions as what the next step would be?

Thanks,

David

After some further testing, I identified the BLF issue. The issue is that my fields were not sequential :

Here is the non-working config :

<attendant.resourceList
attendant.resourceList.11.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.11.label="205
attendant.resourceList.11.address="205"
attendant.resourceList.8.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.8.label="201
attendant.resourceList.8.address="201"
attendant.resourceList.9.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.9.label="202
attendant.resourceList.9.address="202"
attendant.resourceList.30.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.30.label="214"
attendant.resourceList.30.address="214"
attendant.resourceList.14.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.14.label="215
attendant.resourceList.14.address="215"
attendant.resourceList.20.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.20.label="207
attendant.resourceList.20.address="207"/>

When I changed it to this, everything started working fine :

<attendant.resourceList
attendant.resourceList.1.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.1.label="205
attendant.resourceList.1.address="205"
attendant.resourceList.2.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.2.label="201
attendant.resourceList.2.address="201"
attendant.resourceList.3.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.3.label="202
attendant.resourceList.3.address="202"
attendant.resourceList.4.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.4.label="214"
attendant.resourceList.4.address="214"
attendant.resourceList.5.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.5.label="215
attendant.resourceList.5.address="215"
attendant.resourceList.6.type="normal"
attendant.resourceList.6.label="207
attendant.resourceList.6.address="207"/>

Looks like the VVX don't like non-sequential parameters.

Thanks!

Hello David,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I am unsure where you dug out this ancient software but following the community's VoIP FAQ here:

Jan 12, 2012 Question: Can I change / re-assign the appearance of  Line, BLF, Speed Dial and Presence Keys?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

does state that per defined line you also need a line index aka you are missing as an example:

lineKey.1.index="1"

You should see such error in your log:

0802144355|so |4|00|Invalid line key or line key not assigned for reg 1

Please correct this in your configuration and if this still does not work use a currently supported software like UC Software 5.6.0

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you. End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Polycom support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

I got it from your website. I am downloading the latest 5.x firmware now.

I reset the device ( settings reset + filesystem format ). I upgraded to 5.6.0.17325.

I have the same behaviour ( except some of the errors in the French translation are fixed ).

Hello David,

I already responded what your issue is aka the missing index.

In addition :

Jul 06, 2016 Question:Since Upgrading to UC Software 5.5.0 in Generic Base Profile I can no longer use HTTP?

Resolution: HTTPS only is supported since UC Software 5.5.0 only. Please check => here <= for more details

If you cannot fix this the next step is to raise a support ticket.

I added lineKey.x.index=1 and I see the lines, all in the expected positions. Thanks!

I don't see the BLF, and the doc doesn't mention needing index, but I tried with index=0, index=1 and no index specified. Still no BLF.

Thanks!

Hello David,

The initial FAQ post explains how to add a BLF and there is no index needed. the order of the attendant.resourceList defines the appearance.

Simply use the CFG from my FAQ as an example and then play with your own configuration.

Again you should really speak to your Polycom reseller or open a ticket if you are unable to follow the FAQ and cannot find a post explaining this again using the community search.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

attendant.resourceList.20.type="normal"

When I changed it to this, everything started working fine :

Looks like the VVX don't like non-sequential parameters.
