Version : 5.5.1.11526
using on a sip server ( asterisk )
I am trying to configure a reminder for call on hold.
I have added those lines to sip.cfg
<call.hold.localReminder.enabled="1"/> <call.hold.localReminder.period="10"/> <call.hold.localReminder.startDelay="10"/>
tried also this format
<call.hold.localReminder.enabled="1"> <call.hold.localReminder.period="10"> <call.hold.localReminder.startDelay="10"/>
I also tried to set this in MAC_reg.cfg with no luck.
where am i suposed to set this? and what is the right format. is localreminder the right option?
thank you

Hello ,
Yet again this is not properly XML formatted and caused syntax errors. You need to define root elements and then their child elements.
More details either via a popular search engine or > here <
Simply add this:
</call> <test call.hold.localReminder.enabled="1" call.hold.localReminder.period="10" call.hold.localReminder.startDelay="10"/> <device>
to quick and dirty fix this.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello domlaz,
welcome back to the Polycom community.
Some or a couple of your old post(s) => here <= are still open / pending as you have not marked these as "Accept as a solution" or at least provided some form of feedback or answer.
Did you ever follow my advice and involved support ?
If they are in this state nobody finding them via a community search will know if an answer or advice provided was useful and has maybe helped you.
Could you therefore kindly go over them and mark or answer as appropriate ?
If they are marked as "Accept as a solution" other users can find these easier and it helps them to utilise the community more efficiently.
For your new issue please use a correct XML format
Basic example:
<test call.hold.localReminder.enabled="1" call.hold.localReminder.period="10" call.hold.localReminder.startDelay="10"/>
Simply create a file ending with .cfg and import via the Web Interface.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
Best Regards

Hello Domlaz
as already mentioned some internet discounters purchase from various sources.
AllNet is your reseller and your Tier 1 support.
You can try an contact your Canadian reseller but official support would come from AllNet.
Could this be a PTT sound ?Could someone send a PTT page ?
Could these steps match your issue?
- Have an active call between phone A and phone B
- During the active call, make a PTT/Paging call from phone C to phone A. Since phone A already has an active call, the PTT call will go on HOLD.
- Disconnect PTT and call between phone A to phone B.
- After this make couple of random calls (non PTT). As we cycle through media sessions with each new call, eventually the media session that was allocated for the PTT call in step 3 will again be used for the normal call and Phone A will start playing the HOLD reminder in IDLE state
Polycom ref ID: EN-30129
