The phone rebooted and a Core File was generated.
I understand that Core File analysis is performed by HP support engineers, and that vendors or users cannot analyze it themselves.

However, I would like to know what kind of information is generally contained in a Core File on Poly phones.
For example, does it include details such as the ID of the process that caused the reboot, or a direct output of information that was stored in memory?

I would appreciate it if you could explain this with some specific examples.

Thank you very much.

Hello @Kazuya2 ,

Welcome back to the HP Poly community.

A core file contains data that the HP Poly engineering team can analyze and help to troubleshoot an issue. This is as much detail that I can share and end customers cannot decode this.

I am closing this post.

Best Regards

Hello @Kazuya2

Google AI tells you this:

A Poly phone core file (or core dump) is a diagnostic file created automatically by Poly (formerly Polycom) VoIP phones when the device crashes or experiences a critical error. These files are used by Poly support to analyze the cause of reboots or, specifically, "Uploading 1 of 1 core files" messages.

Key Details About Core Files:
  • Purpose: They document the state of the phone at the moment of failure for debugging.
  • Usage: They are not for end-users, as they are encrypted and require specialized analysis by Poly support.
  • Behavior: They are typically uploaded to a configured provisioning server after a crash.
  • Troubleshooting: If these files appear frequently, it often indicates a need to update the phone's firmware (PVOS) or a deeper technical issue.
If you see a "core dump" message, it is recommended to contact your VoIP provider or Poly support to investigate the root cause.
