directory reload command

Hello,

Running UCS 5.4.1 on VVX (300 , 400 and 500)

Today, when we modify the directory file on the server (0000000-directory.xml or [MAC]-directory.xml), we need to restart all the phones to have the modifications visible on the phone directory.

Is there any way to push a command to ask the phone to reload/download its directory without rebooting ?

I saw there is checkSync command, but if I am right, this command reload all the config files, not only the directory.

Hello Kakiman,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

Since UC Software 5.4.0 we either support a Check-Sync as:

• Event: check-sync;upload=Directory

or a new Parameter:

• voIpProt.SIP.specialEvent.checkSync.downloadDirectory

that tells the phone to refresh its directory on receipt of every normal checksync.

Thanks for your answer.

If my understanding is good, this parameter all the phone to download the new directory file. This is good, but in the UCS 5.4.1 admin guide, it says that 

"The files are downloaded when the phone restarts, reboots, or when the phone downloads any software or configuration updates."

So, does it mean I can't download only the directory, the phone will download all the files and also the directory ?

I just wanted to download the directory file.

I have the same problem and want to auto refresh the directory hourly.
