Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

After I reinstalled windows, the sound was gone and I mean the sound chip integrated in the computer. I tried installing all kind of drivers, but nothing helps. It shows as there is no sound device conected. So is there some software/driver that woukld make computer see and use the integratedsound chip?

It changes everything since the dc7800 and dc7900 use a different audio chip than the dc5700/dc7700 does.

You need this W7 audio driver for the dc7900...

This package contains the driver for the ADI High-Definition (HD) Audio CODEC in the supported desktop models and operating systems.

Hi:

What is the full model number or product number of your PC?

The product number can be found on the same sticker as the serial number.

P.s. Doing troubleshoot doesn't help

Hi:

You should be able to use the W7 32 bit audio driver directly from Realtek.

Accept the agreement.  Download and install the 1st driver on the list -- 32 bit.

http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT... Definition Audio Codecs

If that doesn't work, use the Vista Business 32 bit audio driver from the dc5700 support page.

Neither of them worked. It still shows me no sound icon and when I press the icon it shows that it detected a problem and when trying to fix it, it can't fix it, shows as if no sound devices are connected.

No ideas for fix?

Unfortunately, not from me.

I have worked on many dc5700's/dc7700's and those drivers should have worked.

I just got news, that the actual name of pc is HP Compaq DC7900. But I am guessing that changes nothing 😞
