This worked for me [content removed]
Caused by Realtek - AudioProcessingObject - 13.180.1113.170 windows patch conflicting with Logitech Webcam. You may see the following in event viewer:
"Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8024200B: Realtek - AudioProcessingObject - 13.180.1113.170."
"The Windows Audio service terminated unexpectedly." every 3 minutes
Fix:
-
Open Device Manager.
-
Realtek Effect Audio Component got it's own subsection is device manager called "Audio processing objects (APO)" previously under Software components
-
Right click Realtek Audio Effects Component (INT)
-
Right click Update driver
-
Browse > Let me pick > select anything older than version 13.180
-
We used Realtek Audio Effects Component Version 12.122.1097.114
-
Your webcam and mic will still work, hold off on updating windows outside of security patches.

Have had beta drivers installed on two of the affected PCs by an HP tech on site... The install has fixed the audio issue and all is now back to normal. Expect to see these pushed out by HP sooner rather than later.

Apologies if this has already been posted. For anyone still having issues with this, here are the work around steps from Yealink. This is specifically for Yealink headsets so I haven't tried these steps for anything other than these headsets.
These steps were sent to us from Yealink support. Hopefully HP and Realtek will sort a suitable driver which resolves this issue soon.

Windows found and installed two updates today:
Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - MEDIA - 6.0.9557.1 (still the broken driver)
Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 6.0.9576.1 (newer version)
After rebooting, the audio service still crashes instant.

HP released a new audio driver for the Pro Mini 400 G9 on its website, which fixed the issue for me.

Thanks so much Drnsctr - this finally fixed my issue. Post-dates HP sending an "engineer" to my location. Truly appalling service from HP "Support", so glad this forum was here firstly for the workaround and secondly for identifying the solution that HP didn't bother to tell me about after their failed attempts and supposedly an open support ticket!

Me too - all worked fine with an external logitec camera and then suddenly the audio service would start and stop and start and stop and I cannot use the USB device plus the HP microphone and speakers shut off - I unplug the USB device, reboot and it all works fine the laptop camera and the mic/speakers?? Its insane as I do video conference training and need external; cameras and a large external screen which I cannot use if the Laptop lid is flipped up to use the Laptop camera - seriously thinking of buying another PC.
