I absolutely didn't want to underestimate your knowledge, sorry if it seemed so, but the world of audio is a world of its own. ^^ "

btw do you have an external sound card or you're using the default one?
The high performance thing is the first thing I did, nothing has changed.  if I am asking here it is because I don't know where to put my hands anymore, I have tried everything that is suggested, but the workstation doesn't want to work properly.

I wouldn't blame the computer, because there is always the probability that Windows / I'm doing something wrong, but if I have done everything that is recommended without real results, at this point I don't know what to do, other than to choose better performing workstations.
The only problem is it's not cheap stuff, I would like to make this work first, and it's just absurd to have nearly equal / better performance with a Mid 2012 Macbook. LoL

i note that in your posted LatencyMon report that you have a USB process that is consuming a major amount of time

cheap usb cards are not recommended for audio (or video) work, i would remove all installed cards except for the video and run LatencyMon with power settings set to performance and note the results

I have the default usb of the Z800, you say they are so bad?
Between the default ones and 3.0 I was hoping at least one would work well ... Now I try to do as you suggested.

the worst problem is that it happens totally random, once it works well, then it starts crackling and popping and from there it doesn't stop, I wanted to try to understand what it was that created this discomfort, but I'm not succeeding. The only solution is to arm myself with patience and see what happens.

the onboard usb 2.0 ports are driven by a "TI" chip which is considered to be the gold standard for midrange usb chips

what do you have attached to usb 3 ?................i'm suspecting it's external storage devices (more than one)

understand that USB is a SHARED BUSS, all devices attached to a controller share the cards "total" bandwidth

and a usb 3 card attached to a pci-e 2.0 bus is not going to reach usb 3.0 speeds for even one device attached

usb 2.0 is the same except the max speed is approx. half of usb 3

there are high-end usb 3 cards for pci-e 2.0, they are not cheap but they do allow each of the usb 3.0 ports on the card to run a full speed at the same time, and they have larger onboard FIFO buffers which prevents data issues

highpoint makes such a card in 2/4 port models

Anyway, I'm using 2.0.
I tried them all, both the one in front and the one behind, everything.
You say the only thing is to buy me new USBs? Latency Mon Now at this time however he was telling me that what was causing problems and latency were Nvidia drivers and windows audio.

I have only a usb midi controller on the usb 3.0

All hard drives are internal btw, luckily I don't need external usb hard drives, the workstation slots are enough for me 🙂

i would still remove that usb 3 card use the onboard usb 2.0 as a test as the TI chip/driver uses very little system resources as most of the usb related things are done on the TI chip in hardware vs a software driver that most cheap usb cards use

the software driver method increases the cpu load and uses more resources than a hardware based usb chip a quick way to see this is to look at the drivers for both cards, the TI chip driver should be smaller in size

TI (7340) based card:

https://shentek.com/product/ti-usb-3-0-pcie-4-port-usb-a-card-tusb7340/

professional usb 3.0 card: (4 port for pci-e 2.0 systems)

https://www.amazon.com/High-Point-PCI-Express-RocketU-1022C-dp-B015CQ8DCS/dp/B00EWJT26S/ref=dp_ob_ti...

and again, install the latest realtek driver from the realtek site, it contains many fixes the HP driver revision lacks

for video the same usually applies (what is the card model?)

HP Recommended

forgot to say i can install several creative sound card models in the z800 using stock and AISO drivers and i think i still have some older professional cards, around but as they use balanced audio, that would be a pain to setup

I have a Geforce GTX 1080 Ti, which I had to move lower these days, 'cause the Z800 case has some space problems : P

speaking of problems, using the event viewer i noticed this error: The EHCI host controller reported a Host System Error.

so i think you are right, the main problem is the usb drive.
Maybe it's 3.0, which often disconnects for no reason, which also creates problems for others?
Because the sound card is attached to the usb in the back panel.
