OK, then you will need to run those sp##### files on XP, so they can create the bootable floppy disks.

I have an old Dell notebook with XP on it, just for situations like that.

 

I may have even used it to create a bootable BIOS update file for one of my d530's that I had installed W7 on.

Just to be curious

If the sp#### updates were list under windows 7 in the HP support page, does it mean they would have worked?

Yes, but as you are aware, there is no W7 driver section for the d530 model series.
