Hey everyone, I’m having a weird thing happen when trying to enter my BIOS. I have an old Omen 875-0034 PC, I previously slotted in a new NVMe to install Linux on while waiting for my new PC parts arrived to build, and once I ran the install I put the old NVMe back in. I’m going to use the Omen as a NAS system, and when I tried going into BIOS to change boot order to my NAS flash I was hit with “Enter Administrator Password” with a key symbol beside of it. I assumed something with CMOS so did a reset for 15 minutes or so, but I’m getting hit with it again. I’ve gotten a few codes, A [2A2FD6DE] and A [3CAA3A6A] were the ones I jotted down. It’s way out of warranty due to its age so any help would be really appreciated. It boots up fine normally, I’m just locked out of BIOS for whatever reason.

Hello @BrianB34 ,

Welcome to the HP community.

A quick community search for the terms BIOS & Password finds all these posts >here<, which are mainly closed with the below explanation:

Unfortunately, you will need to contact an HP agent for problems with BIOS passwords.

Here is HP's official policy regarding BIOS passwords:

According to the Community's Rules of Participation:

4d. No posts shall include instructions/directions intended to bypass or subvert security mechanisms such as lock screens, BitLockers, BIOS lock, passwords, fingerprint/biometry scanners, PINs, or any other safety measures.

Therefore, this topic is being locked. If you would like help resetting the password on your product, please Contact HP support in your region.

For cases related to BitLocker issues, please contact Microsoft Support.

The only way to recover your PC's BitLocker key is if you printed it out or exported it to your Microsoft account when you first set up your PC.

Find your BitLocker recovery key - Microsoft Support

Without the key, you will have to clean install Windows on the encrypted drive so you can use your PC again.

Best regards

Steffen Baier
