I have the same problem. Where and what do I down load. Grand daughter played with it, and this is how she left it. What is the program I need to download, and will it put my programs back on my laptop with a fresh install less my added programs?

Hello! I have a problem with my laptop where it cannot find a boot device.

As I was going with the procedure below, I cannot perform step no. 4.

Procedure 1: Run diagnostics to rule out other hard drive issues.
  1. Start or restart the computer.
  2. Press F2 repeatedly during start up to enter the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility.
  3. Select Component Tests > Hard Drive > Quick Test.
  4. Select drive C:.
  5. Click Run Once.
  6. Once the test completes, results are displayed on screen.

There is no option for me to Select drive C:. It did finish the quick test and it passed. Hope to find a fix for this problem. Thank you!

My laptop is HP Pavillion 15-cx0018ne.

I tried but says “NO SMART CHECK INSTALLED”, so I am unable to run the test.
