A few nights ago our electricity went out just for a few minutes. When the lights came back on I turned the computer on.. What was on the screen at that time was "Preparing Automatic Repair". I checked on YouTube and found someone explaining how to fix my problem. Now I have a blue box on the screen that says "Boot device not found. Please install an operating system on your hard disk". That's as far as the YouTube helped.. I can't do anything with my computer. No app screen, no start button, nothing except the blue box. Can someone please help me.

You have a serious problem -- the computer cannot read the disk-drive, to load Windows from the disk-drive.

If the HP Warranty is still valid, HP will repair your computer, by replacing the disk-drive, and giving you a copy of Windows.

If the HP Warranty has expired, then, for a fee, HP will repair your computer, as would any qualified local computer technician. You can either contact HP Support, to get the HP-customized version of Windows 10, to install onto a new disk-drive.  Or, see: Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com) to download the "generic" version of Windows 10. If you do, then use the HP Support Assistant to add the HP-specific device-drivers for your HP-specific hardware components.

Hello
the hard drive is defective
It can continue to operate for a certain time, but it can definitively break down, if it is not already the case!
If possible, save personal data
Try a full reinstall
Be careful even if it works, it may permanently break down, save the data regularly.
This may allow you to use the computer while you find a hard drive!

You can try to help yourself with this tutorial (sorry not fully translated)

Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7)

You can try several things in order to try to recover your data

You can try a bootable cd / dvd type live cd (linux)

you can try removing the hard drive, in order to connect it to another computer internally, or with a usb adapter!

If your disk is not completely out of order, this gives you a small chance
