Hi.  When trying to boot the computer I am getting a blue screen hard disc error(see photo).  After letting the computer sit for a week it booted up and I was able to back up my personal files.  But then it acted up again and I'm back to the blue screen.  When I boot up the hard disc light lights once then turns off followed by the blue screen.  Help, I bought the computer new from your website around 2 years ago.  Worked great until this happened.undefined

Hi thanks for the reply.  I do not have the storage capacity to create an image of my hard drive.  I ordered a new hard drive and was wondering if I install it as a slave could I save the image to it?  Would I then be able to use it as a master?  I'm afraid to run the disc diagnositics or a recovery or restore until I have a backup.

Does this make sense to you?

Hi @SiestaKeyFl,

I would disconnect the old drive.

Setup the new drive with the OS.

Then connect the old drive as secondary drive.

That way I can copy the files from the old drive but know the OS is working from the new drive.

Hope this helps. Please get back to me if need more help.

How do I, step by step get my operating system on the new hard drive?  I've never had to do this before.  Thanks again for the advice, I hope this will work.

I don't have a restore cd.  If the computer will boot up again can I make one?  Where do I go to find it on my upgraded to Windows 10 system?

Is this the same thing as "Create a recovery drive" ?  Or do I need to do something else?

After a year I was able to get the hd to run long enough to ghost a new hd.  Back up and running.
