After a recent update to Windows 10 I am unable to wake the display from sleep mode. Powering off and on several times will sometimes get it up and running. It is like the HD never starts to Boot. Ran hp diagnostics and everything came up passed. System has occasionally not responded to keyboard clicks to wake display

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
This symptom is usually caused by a driver problem unless Power settings have been modified.
Do you know the specific Windows Update which has caused this problem? Uninstall the update. This is a work around but you have limited options.
Your PC is circa 2013. HP is not supporting Windows 10 on your PC and is not providing Windows 10 drivers for your PC.
So you must rely on Microsoft to provide currents drivers for system stability.
Check Windows 10 Update for driver updates.
