OMEN 25L Desktop - GT12-0197c
Microsoft Windows 11

The BIOS remains stuck in recovery mode without providing any error codes or issue notifications. I have tried using two different SSDs – one with the original BIOS and another with the latest version available for my PCs motherboard – but the problem persists. Additionally, I have reset the CMOS multiple times and inspected the motherboard for physical damage but found none. The main issue remains unclear, and I am unsure of any other potential causes.

Hi @JamesLMarkus

What do you mean by "Bios infinitely updates"?

It doesn't stop

That is a new one for me.

Which method of BIOS update did you use?

Did you create a USB flash drive installer or download from the driver and software portal and then update?

I did find a similar case to yours that was answered by HP Expert @GOLD_MASTER.

The original poster did not reply. I suspect he would have replied if what GOLD_MASTER suggested was a fail. I must admit that I hesitate to  suggest what he did, but I really cannot see and other way out of the situation you have described.

There is a risk of bricking your PC, but that is so in almost all BIOS updates. Newer desktop and laptop PC have less risk because of the UEFI environment which  should allow for recovery in the case of a failed BIOS update.

it says recovery successful says the screen may flash a few times, but it just resets about 4 times beeps 8 times again and repeats the recovery.

1st of all the computer was running fine but i moved everything to a new case i did the usual draining of remaining electricity no static shocks occurred so i don't know what changed

In that case, I would try the method HP Expert @GOLD_MASTER has suggested.

Could the CMOs caps being in the wrong place be a problem

What do you mean by that?

Do you mean the jumpers?

The capacitors will not change polarity or position.

It is unfortunate that HP did not show where the jumpers should be placed to reset the BIOS.

That is something that used to be the norm.
