DVD/CD drive has stopped burning disks. HP diagnostics indicate possibility of hardware failure, giving code 90F21Q-80PAAV-X87T61-6HHX03. Would fit a new drive but also see current discussions on Microsoft pages suggesting problems with GUD0N drives due to Microsoft updates. Is there a way I can confirm if this is down to hardware or software? Thanks so much.
Decided the best way was to replace the DVD drive & see. Direct replacement doesn't seem to be available but sourced a GUD0N drive on Amazon, just needed to swap the bezel. Seems to be working fine now.
