Hi everyone! I want to change my wireless network card but i'm not sure if it'll compatible . I have the latest BIOS update and I couldn't find a list of supported devices anywhere. Anyone can tell me if the Intel AX210 is supported by my bios?

The potential problem seems like the bluetooth will work but not the wifi (only in bios with the diagnostics). But this post give me hope:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/WIFI-AX/m-p/8004977/highlight/true#M1...

The notable difference is that he is under Intel and I am under AMD...

Currently i have the default Mediatek RTL8852AE and the Intel AX200 is also compatible with my motherboard.

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for your feedbacks.

I took the risk (thanks to the free return from Amazon) to test the AX210 (not VPRO) and unfortunately it didn't work. Only bluetooth worked and same observation under Kali Linux.

The WLAN is well recognized under the bios.

For those interested, I installed and uninstalled my old drivers and installed the Intel drivers (BT then WLAN) before inserting the new network card.

At startup only the BT was recognized. No WLAN card was visible in the device manager. By connecting the ethernet via a hub, generic drivers were installed and I was able to have wired internet. I installed the Intel drivers manually by changing the drivers for this "generic device". The Intel device was finally seen by Windows (with the famous yellow triangle) but I still had no wifi.
I uninstalled the current INTEL driver and reinstalled older versions of the driver, same thing.
There's maybe a solution by modifying the bios but I don't have time to look into it. I'm curious if these limitations are hardware or software...

Thanks to those who replied, especially @paul_tikkanen who seems to be the subject matter expert on this forum.

I'm going to buy an AX200.

Best regards

Hi:

The notebook model in the discussion you posted is very different from yours, so there no telling if the AX210 card will work or not.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.  Chapter 3, page 17 has the list of supported wifi adapters that are guaranteed to work.

Only the Intel AX200 is comparable in specs to the one you have installed now.

Any other card will be an experiment on your part.

So, if you decide to purchase the Intel AX 210 please let us know if it works or not.

Make sure you get the non-vPro model of the card.

Hello,

I personally wouldn't risk if it does not say it is compatible as your computer may not function after installation.

You're very welcome.

Please let us know if the AX200 works for your notebook.

It should if you get the part number referenced in chapter 3 of the service manual.

Unfortunately, the Intel AX200 does not work on my computer. As a reminder, I have a 15-eh1xxx.

HP Recommended

That is unfortunate.

And you bought the exact same part number AX200 listed in chapter 3, page 17 of your 15-eh1000 notebook's service manual I posted the other day?

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 802.11ax 2 × 2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5 (non-vPro) L35282-005.

If you did and it didn't work, I have no idea why it didn't.
