Hi
Just bought a new Pavilion All in one PC. Setting it up today, it looked good out of the box.
However, just noticed that it's not aligned properly with its base, or with the table it's on. The whole monitor screen is tilted up at one end and lower at the other. The difference isn't huge, but it's not dead straight either. It's about 0.5cm higher at one end than the other. It notices, because I can see the base just below the line of the bottom of the monitor and the two don't align.
It's not terrible, but it's not dead straight. Is there any way of straightening it up?
Wondering whether to consider exchanging it, since it's brand new today, or if it's not crooked enough to exchange. For an expensive piece of tech that's all about straight lines in its design, it feels a bit off.
Has anyone else got a wonky screen like this? Is 0.5cm difference at either end within an acceptable range, or is that enough to feel crooked?
Thanks

Being that you did not state the exact model number of this new purchase, I am wondering if you assembled/attached the base, and misaligned it?

Hi and thank you very much for responding to my post.
This system came ready assembled. It required no work from me. It was ready to stand up right from the box.
According to the HP website, where I bought it, the model of this system is:
HP Pavilion 24 - xa1008na

If any other Pavilion owners have an opinion or a similar experience, it would be great to hear!
If this is a common occurrence with this model, that would be interesting to know. I'd be less inclined to go for an exchange if the replacement was very likely to be tilted in a similar way. But if my one is unusual and all others are dead straight, I'd like to know that too!
Thanks again!

Hi
I just opened my Pavillion 24-XAOO71A and its exactly the same. Difference of 1cm from one side to the other. Just trying to pack it back in the box.
So disappointed.
Though I must admit I was so focused on storage and processors etc. I didn't check in store if the screen was adjustable I just assumed it was. But not only is it fixed, its very very crooked. :😥

Hi C7009,
Thanks for your response. That's very helpful to know.
Are you taking it back for an exchange then?
I'm not quite sure what to do about mine, but it helps to know that others have this problem. I'm slightly concerned that I ask for an exchange and that a new one arrives with the same problem or worse. Your one actually sounds more crooked than mine, so it sounds like a problem that might exist with these desktops, but every time I look at mine now, I notice that it's slightly wonky...

I'm not sure either. I am in Aus, so it's now early hours in the morning, so I'll be returning it later today.
I feel a bit the same as you. However I cant find a tower with the same amount of RAM and processor for a cheaper price so that I can afford a decent monitor etc. I've been saving for some time and was already pushing above budget as theres a sale on. I am.concerned if I get a replacement it will either be the same OR that it's going to happen eventually anyway. So I too am.wondering if this is how they end up. 😞

Page 11 of this manual for series 24 - xa shows 2 different mounts, a single post and a dual post. Please clarify.
I have asked for moderator assistance. Please expect a reply with 48 hours. The same defect in 2 different models of the HP 24 series should be addressed.

Thanks Wb2001
I only found this forum as I was googling to see if there was a way I could fix the issue i.e. wondered if there was an adjustment that's not in the inbox instructions. But I can find any mention. The monitor is fixed to the stand theres no bolts or anything visable that could be easily tweaked without affecting warranty. I was shocked to see someone had the same issue only 2 days ago. I wonder if a lot of people just dont notice. But a 1cm tilt is quite noticable. Anyhow so I am also still finding my way around this forum, so grateful for your interest/involvement.
