Microsoft Windows 11

I recently purchased a HP OmniStudio X All-in-One 27-cs0055t.  There were no clear installation instructions and after assembling the stand and attaching it to the PC I attempted to move it to my desk. The PC separated from the stand and went smashing to the ground. It missed my foot by inches. It damaged my floor and the screen fell out. All the tabs that hold the screen in are broken as well as the metal bezel at the bottom. I am extremely lucky it did not break my foot. Who do I reach out to for repair or replacement. This clearly was not my fault but caused by an extremely poor design.

@SaltySales,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

I'm very sorry to hear about your experience with the HP OmniStudio X All-in-One 27-cs0055t. What you’ve described is not only frustrating but potentially dangerous. A device falling from its stand and nearly causing injury is indeed a serious matter.

Here's what I recommend you do immediately:

1. Document Everything

  • Take clear photos of the damage to the PC, the broken tabs, stand, screen, and any damage to your floor.

  • If possible, record a video showing how the stand attaches (or fails to) for demonstration purposes.

  • Write a concise timeline of what happened, including:

    • When you bought the unit.

    • How the stand was assembled.

    • The moment of the fall and any injuries or near misses.

2. Contact HP Support Directly

Use the product number 27-cs0055t and explain that this is not a warranty issue, but a safety-related structural failure.

When you contact them:

  • Emphasize that there were no clear installation instructions.

  • Mention that the PC detached from the stand without misuse.

  • Specify the potential for serious injury, and that it damaged your property.

  • Request escalation to HP’s Safety & Quality Team or Customer Relations (not just Tier 1 Support).

Kind Regards,

HP offered to give me 20% off them repairing it.  I told them I preferred to submit a consumer product safety complaint and look for a class action attorney. The CPSC report number 20250805-61B2D-2147328914.

@SaltySales,

Thank you for reporting back: really too bad it has come to this...

HP just responded with an offer for 40% off the repair. Clearly, they know there is an issue with the design. I still told them no. I refuse to pay anything for what is clearly a design flaw.

@SaltySales,

Fascinating: this decision by HP would indicate that your issue has been internally escalated or else they wouldn't have come with the second 'offer'.

Well, from an impartial -professional- POV, my opinion is that HP should at least consider either refunding or exchanging the entire PC for replacement to avoid possible legal repercussions and unwelcome 'attention'.

The exact same issue happened to me three weeks ago, only PC fell off the stand, onto my desk, shattering the upper left corner of the display screen.  I urgently needed a new machine and had to spend$1,150 on a new HP OmniStudio X All-in-One 27-cs0055t Desktop.  Like you, I was extremely upset about this.  The machine that separated from the stand, fell and broke was 10 months old, with 60 days of warranty remaining.

I am sorry to hear that. You should file a complaint with the Consumer Product Safety Commission like I did. Maybe if enough of us do they will actually take it seriously and do something about it before someone gets hurt.
