Hello. I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card and want to choose one that is compatible with my pc. I've read that your pc needs a graphics card that won't have more power or gb that it can handle. I wanted to ask for suggestions on a affordable graphics card that would be sufficient for my pc. The games that I play require a minimum of 8 gb. I will list my pc specs below.

Upgrade, for games, what to do...
hp models are not always very spacious, check if the model in question can fit, and if you do not risk transforming it into an auxiliary heater!!

that would be wasted money...
count, sometimes a newer computer would be more interesting for not much more
The graphics card can be reused in another machine, but not easy for the rest

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Your HP Pavilion Power 580-023w Desktop PC (Z5N95AA), according to: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05638874, is fitted with an Odense2-K motherboard (SSID: 82F1) which is 24-pin ATX-power supply enabled.
Meaning, you can swap out your stock 300-watt power supply ("internal uATX E-STAR 6.0 Bronze power supply") with any industry standard ATX power supply. The reason why I bring this up first, is that your power supply is maxed out with your GTX 1060 3GB. If you want a better graphics card, you must upgrade your PSU.
For a substantial -and meaningful graphics performance improvement, my recommendation for you is to get a 500-watt ATX power supply (watch the dimensions for fit), and pair it with an HP (or Dell) RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6 graphics card, see: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/hp-rtx-3060-oem.b9077.
You can get one for around $300 via eBay, which considering where graphics card pricing has been, is a very good deal: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=HP+RTX+3060&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&LH_BIN=1&_sop=15&....
Please take a look what other HP Pavilion 580-0xx Users have been able to do once they upgraded their power supplies: HP Pavilion Power Desktop 580-0xx Performance Results - UserBenchmark.
Additional recommendations:
1.) Upgrade to 2 x 8GB DDR4 PC4-19200, 2400 MHz, Non-EEC, Unbuffered, UDIMM, 288-pin RAM sticks.
2.) Upgrade to an i7-7700 processor.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,

If $300+ is too much, another great graphics card upgrade would be the HP Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB GDDR6 -which also requires a 500-watt power supply, and can be purchased starting at $180 via eBay: HP RTX 2060 for sale | eBay.
