Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Where did you purchase it? If you can confirm where you bought the SSD (for example, from HP directly or a third-party retailer), that could help narrow down the support options.
Try these steps for warranty checks:
- Please check this document and follow the steps to raise the warranty dispute:
- Also please refer to the below link to check the warranty status.
Support Options:
- If you purchased from a third-party retailer (like Amazon or Best Buy), you may need to contact them for warranty issues if it's outside of HP's official system.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for the reply.
It was purchased from the HP store on Amazon. Amazon has a 30-day return window on "electronics" to cover DOA, etc.
It is an FX900 Pro M,2 4TB SSD.
It was purchased in July 2024 and has a 5-year warranty. The warranty is useless as HP DOESN'T stand behind it.
Going to the 2nd link below to check the warranty doesn't support SSDs, or as it appears, any device that doesn't use the 10-characther serial number format used on HP printers and computers. This SSD uses a 15-character SN.
Calling support gets one into the same loop with an "invalid" SN as it is not 10-characters long. Can't get past the robot to talk to a person.
From the warranty screen.

Input her was US and 15-character SN.
Nowhere on the HP site have I found any mention, never mind warranty information, about SSDs, other than the HP Hong Kong store which the site took me to when I searched for "SSD" from the "Seach HP Support" query.
This brings me to believe that HP sells but does NOT support or replace SSDs.
Why does HP say it has a 5-year limited warranty?
NOT a good way to run a business.
