HP Specte X360 shuts down instead of sleep mode if it doesn't detect keystroke every few minutes

2021 HP Specte X360: With lid up, it  keeps shutting down instead of going into sleep mode if it doesn't detect keystroke every few minutes,

Ran all the HP Diagnostic tests for power, hardware, and battery. All passed with not detected issues.

Laptotop has all currecnt updates. Balanced power Plan. In Control panel it is set to Sleep and not ever hibernate when lid closed.

NOTE: Fast Startup option is not available for me to select either.

2021 Spectre x360 is really much to go on.  Include the version of Windows 11. Is it  Windows 11 Pro or the Home version?


When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key once.
That will open the Windows run dialogue

Type in msinfo32 and press enter.


The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.

The System SKU/Product ID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.



If you can't log into Windows, look on the bottom of your notebook for that information.

If you have a desktop look at the rear of your PC
