The touch screen on the computer is not cracked and the machine appears to be in peak physical condition. However, the screen keeps getting a space on the right side of the screen that looks like someone is trying to touch it. This renders the machine unusable because the mouse cursor keeps getting pulled to that location on the screen. I want to permanently disable the touch screen. Every time I disable the touch screen it enables itself again upon startup. Please help to permanently disable the touch screen! Thank you in advance!

Please try the following steps
(a) Right click Start and select Device Manager,
(b) Expand Human Interface Devices,
(c) Right click HID-compliant touchscreen,
(d) Select Disable device.
Regards.

I've already tried that. Upon restart, the computer enables the touch screen again. This happens everytime. I need a way to permanently disable the touch screen on this all in one computer. The warranty ran out on it a few short months ago and the machine is useless with all of the phantom mouse clicks from the touch screen.

I am having the exact problem on the same model HP Envy 27-p014. I keep disabling the touch screen, it keeps coming back when comuter is restarted. It is getting more and more difficult to disable the touch screen due to lack of control over the cursor. My warranty expired less than w weeks before the problem develop, so I am looking at owning a $1199 paperweight soon. Does anyone know of a solution?

Hi,
You need to be an Admin to get the suggestion working as supplied by @banhien. If you want to get rid of gestures then review this article posted by Microsoft. You might try the below suggestion first:
- Open the Control Panel (icons view), and click/tap on the Mouse icon.
- In Mouse Properties, click/tap on the Device Settings tab, and click/tap on the Settings button.
- Check (enable) or uncheck (disable) the Enable Edge Swipes option, and click/tap on OK.
- Click/tap OK in Mouse Properties.

I am having the same problem. The steps you provided are a great TEMPORARY fix. But when I restart my computer, the touchscreen has been enabled again. How do I PERMANENTLY disable the touchscreen?

Hi,
If you have upgraded from W8 then Windows may still have an older drivers in the setup folder or Windows old folder. The name of the driver escapes me right now but I did see an updated version on the vendors web site. I should have copied down the link. If you can find the older driver name and then google it you should be able to find the latest driver.
