So I'm planning on upgrading to a gtx 1660 super but I realized that it needs an 8 pin connector but the 690-0010 doesn't have any 8 pins so I was wondering if I would have to buy a new psu or motherboard and new psu or if there is a work around .

@Sxelent1 -- would this adapter cable: https://www.amazon.ca/CGTime-15-Pin-PCI-Express-Female-Adapter/dp/B075383P7T/
work, if your power-supply has one "unused" SATA connector ?

@Sxelent1 -- yes, an easy & inexpensive solution:
https://www.amazon.ca/Startech-Com-PYO2SATA-6-Inch-Splitter-Adapter-M/dp/B002N2EHVQ/
converts one SATA connector into two SATA connectors.

keep in mind that using these adapters can cause issues as there is a limit to the current you can safely draw from them
powering a Hard Drive and a video card from on sata connector will be pushing it but should work as long as your power supply is up to the task wattage wise

it's usually impossible to determine a good one vs a bad one visually, once you have it up and running leave the side cover off for a while and physically touch the connector ends/wires and see if they feel warm/hot if so replace

Good point.
You could use that SATA "splitter" to use one power-cable to feed both of your SATA devices, and connect the other power-cable only to that adapter that feeds power to the graphics adapter card. That might make a difference, since both of your SATA devices only have "modest" requirements for power.

I do not understand why you said "buy" ???
See: https://www.amazon.ca/Startech-Com-PYO2SATA-6-Inch-Splitter-Adapter-M/dp/B002N2EHVQ/
This power-splitting adapter is not too "big", if that is what you meant.
